Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Caulfield, Warwick Farm, Launceston, Belmont Park, Ipswich, Murray Bridge, Fannie Bay, Hanging Rock, Wagga, Kilcoy and Balnarring.

CAULFIELD: RACE 6 @ 4:20 PM

Hard to knock the way that LIGHTHOUSE (4) has gone about things since coming to Australia from the US. She has posted impressive ratings in all four wins and the latest was the pick of them, sitting back off a fast pace and powering over the top to win well. Looks to get a very similar scenario with plenty of speed engaged. Betting value can be GROUNDSWELL (3) who is an interesting runner kicking off at 1400m. Has often taken a 1200m run to blow the cobwebs off but he won at this trip off a short spell back in August last year and suspect the yard have set him right up for this. He's about good enough. CROSSHAVEN (2) and AGE OF CHIVALRY (1) were no match for Lighthouse last time but both are good 1400m horses on their day and can go better than that. Racing well enough to think that they could produce their best in the right scenario and that is competitive.
SELECTIONS: Have to be with Lighthouse.

WARWICK FARM: RACE 7 @ 5:20 PM

The feature race on the card, the $150,000 Listed Australia Day Cup. PARRY SOUND (2) was a strong winner of the Group 3 Summer Cup two back before not being disgraced on Magic Millions day at the Gold Coast. Will be rock-hard fit now and looks the one they all have to run down. ATTORNEY (1) has been competing exclusively at Group and Listed level and will appreciate the drop in grade here. Looks a major player. The well-related NAVY CROSS (6) got the job done last time out and can go on with it now. In the mix. FUN FACT (5) is one from one here on his home surface and is a must for the multiples. MUBARIZ (4) is a two-time winner around this circuit and is worth including.
SELECTIONS: Parry Sound to win.

MURRAY BRIDGE: RACE 3 @ 2:47 PM

YELLOW IDOL (14) races handy and just missed in town and then went close again at Gawler. Draws low and Holder takes over and links well with the Stokes barn. Draws to advantage and can break through. REVUE (6) was backed off the map at Oakbank on debut and has no luck at all. Has a wide barrier but gets the blinkers first time and Pannell takes over from Vorster. In a top yard and sharp improvement is likely. QUICK RETURN (5) was on speed and folded up at Gawler. Impressed his first two race starts and can take a sit today and gets back into the finish. STARLOCKET (12) was also plain the latest but was good prior and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Backing Yellow Idol.

HANGING ROCK: RACE 4 @ 2:46 PM

JEKYLL'N'HYDE (1) has a wide run at Camperdown the latest and go on the lip defeat prior at Geelong this distance when he led. That stacks right up for this and he can get back on track. THE ONION THIEF (3) was also plain at Camperdown. Wasn't beaten far three-back at Stawell and that would have her in the finish. Will race handy and should get the staying trip. MY KING'S COUNSEL (4) has been racing at the provincials and draws for the run of the race. He's going well enough to consider. SO BELAFONTE (5) will be fitter and may be next best.
SELECTIONS: Going with Jekyll'N'Hyde.

WAGGA: RACE 8 @ 5:45 PM

VICTORY CHUCKLE (1) put in a brave effort when finishing third last start at Kilmore, where he was trapped wide throughout before just coming up short. He was a big maiden winner at his prior run and gets senior hoop Jordan Mallyon in the irons for this assignment. He will be very hard to hold out. RUBICK ISLAND (12) is still a maiden but has been placed in three of her five starts, the latest being a solid third at Moruya. She gets the winkers added for the first time which should sharpen her up and a win can't be far away. Include in all multiples. BOSSY BOOT (10) has needed all her three runs in this time and wasn't totally happy with the soft ground last start. She gets a jockey upgrade with Brendan Ward taking over the reins and is worthy of consideration for wider combinations at nice each way odds. ELECTRIC STORM (14) got back early last start before finding the line strongly to finish third, he is ready for the mile fifth up and will be given every chance by Nick Heywood.
SELECTIONS: Victory Chuckle win bet.
