Darlington Hall (3 c ex Miss Kenton by Pivotal) won Sunday's Kyodo News Hai (Gr 3, 1800m) at Tokyo to become the 51st stakes winner for former Darley shuttler New Approach (Galileo).

Owned by Godolphin and trained by Tetsuya Kimura, Darlington Hall defeated Bitterender (Orfevre) by a nose with Figlio Allegro (Deep Impact) another four lengths back in third.

Now the winner of two of his four starts, Darlington Hall is out of the once raced Pivotal (Polar Falcon) mare Miss Kenton who has also produced the stakes-placed colt Floating Artist (Nathaniel). His second dam is the French Group 3 winner Do The Honours (Highest Honor), the dam of six winners and a half-sister to the Listed winner Seba (Alzao) being out of the fellow Listed winner Persian Secret (Persian Heights).

New Approach shuttled to Australia for four seasons between 2009 and 2012. The sire of seven Group 1 winners to date including Dawn Approach and Masar, New Approach is standing the 2020 season at Darley's Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket for a fee of £30,000.
