Finsceal (2 g ex Rosalita by Danehill Dancer) became the first Australia-bred winner for Darley’s Territories (Invincible Spirit) when he won Sunday’s Canadian Club Handicap (1200m) at the Sunshine Coast.

Starting a 16-1 shot, the gelding defeated favourite Hinged (Worthy Cause) by a nose with three lengths back to Miss Pierro (Pierro) in third.

Finsceal was bought for $110,000 by Symphony Lodge at the 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and then realised that same price when bought by Gerard O’Toole at the Magic Millions Gold Coast 2YOs In Training Sale.

Territories covered a book of 149 mares last year and he has sired 50 winners worldwide including two stakes winners headed by Group 3 scorer Rougir. He will stand at Darley Kelvinside for a fee of $11,000 (inc GST) this year.
