Godolphin's Jadida breaks her maiden

Becomes the first winner for the late Group One winning filly Miracles Of Life

The Godolphin-owned Jadida (Medaglia d'Oro) broke her maiden at Randwick-Kensington over 1100 metres on Wednesday to become the first winner out of Group One winner Miracles Of Life (Not A Single Doubt), who died in May 2019.

Having her fifth career start, Jadida came from second last rounding the home turn and in the straight made her run down the outside to get up and hold off the late challenge of Latin Lyric (Wandjina).

The daughter of former Darley shuttler Medaglia d'Oro (El Prado) was bought for $1 million by Godolphin at the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yealing Sale from the draft of Coolmore Stud and Godolphin Stable representative Darren Beadman believes that there is more to come from the filly.

"They put their judgement on the line and paid $1million for her," Beadman said.

"The form doesn't look all that strong, but she was one of our early comers. She trialled at the official two-year-old barrier trials, but she has had a few minor growing issues. James (Cummings) and the team have given her plenty of time to settle down and grow into herself.

"She showed a really nice turn of foot today, and there is a little bit of upside to her.

"She has been running on wet tracks, which she does not really go on, and she has been unable to show the turn of foot she showed today getting back on top of the ground."
