The Bjorn Baker-trained Hinchinbrook colt Hinchbeast when he ran out the winner of The Agency Real Estate Maiden over 1100m at Rosehill.
The colt, a $240,000 purchase by Teng Long / Legends Bloodstock / McKeever Bloodstock from the Willow Park Stud draft at this year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, lead on the fence before kicking clear in the straight and he held on to score by a half-length from the Chris Waller-trained colt Volterra who was running on strongly in the closing stages. The first 2 were well clear of the remaining 3 runners.
“He was out on his feet late, but I think he'll learn a lot from that,” said winning jockey Hugh Bowman.
Volterra, a son of I Am Invincible, was bought for $1.3 million by Waller Racing / Mulcaster Bloodstock from the Yarraman Park Stud draft at the Gold Coast and Waller was pleased with the colt's debut.
“That was a very good run, he did everything right," said Waller who is hopeful the colt will go 1 better next start.
Volterra is the third foal out of the Listed-winning mare Tai Tai Tess who has now produced 3 winners from 3 foals to race. She is out of the dual winning Last Tycoon mare Tycoon Tess who is herself a daughter of the dual Group 1 winner Arborea. A brother to Volterra is catalogued as lot 840 at next year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale in the draft of Yarraman Park Stud.
The Capitalist half-sister to Hinchbeast is catalogued as lot 756 at the same sale from the draft of Willow Park Stud. She is the fourth foal out of the 4-time winner Shamrock Slipper from the family of Group 1 winner Wanted and Group 2 winner Shrapnel.
