After notching up stakes winner number 10 last week, Eureka Stud stallion Spirit Of Boom added to his tally this weekend when his four-year-old daughter Frangipani Moon won the Just Now Quality (Listed) over 1350 metres at Doomben.

Trained by David Vandyke and ridden by Jake Bayliss, Frangipani Moon was given a rails hugging ride and got up to beat Shalwa by a half length with another length and a quarter back to Mewstone Rock in third.

Frangipani Moon is a homebred for Plaintree Farm's Heather and David Pascoe.

"Heather and David are great clients and supporters. They own just about the whole family of Frangipani Moon and to get black-type for them is a great thrill," Vandyke said.

"I wasn't over confident to today but Jake told me he thought she could win. Jake was going to be a hero or a villian with his rails ride but it has worked out well.

"Frangipani Moon is not a Magic Millions horse but there are plenty more fillies and mares race for her."

Saturday's victory took Frangipani Moon's record to 3 wins and 5 placings from 11 starts. She is the first foal out of the winning mare Equality, a daughter of Conatus and comes from the family of dual Listed winner Transporter. Not served in 2015, Equality was served by Spirit Of Boom in 2016, 2017 and again last year.

Standing for a fee of $44,000 (inc GST) this year, Spirit Of Boom has 10 lots catalogued for next month's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. Winner of the Doomben 10,000 (Group 1), Spirit Of Boom's other stakes winners include his Group 3 winning sons Boomsara and Spirits Aubeer (now racing in Hong Kong as The Hulk) and Listed winner and Group placed daughter Outback Barbie.
