Group 1 winner Alabama Express (Redoute's Choice) will stand his first season at Yulong for a fee of $27,500 (inc GST).

Trained by Mike Moroney, Alabama Express emulated his sire Redoute's Choice (Danehill) in taking out the CF Orr Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) on February 8 - becoming the first three-year-old to land the Group 1 since All Too Hard (Casino Prince).

Alabama Express was retired last week having won four of his eight career starts which saw him accumulate $554,750 in career prize-money.

The colt is out of Encosta De Lago (Fairy King) mare Lago Ovation, who is herself a half-sister to Group 2-placed Rekindled Power (Redoute's Choice) and Group 3-placed Shuffle Up (Redoute's Choice).

Further back this is the family of dual Group 2 winner Rekindled Interest (Redoute's Choice), Group 3 winner Where We Left Off (Dr Devious) and Listed scorer Porticcio (Lomitas).

Dual Group 1-winning miler Grunt will stand his second season at Yulong for $13,750 (inc GST). The son of O'Reilly (Last Tycoon) covered 178 mares in his debut year.

"We're excited to stand two very talented Group 1 winners at Yulong in 2020," said Yulong's chief operating officer Sam Fairgray. "I worked closely with the great Redoute's Choice for years and now couldn't be prouder to stand his son Alabama Express at Yulong, who is a physical replica of his sire.

"Grunt kicked off his stud career with incredible support and a fantastic fertility rate of around 90 per cent, so breeders can be confident they will have a high chance of getting their mare in foal.

"He is a gorgeous individual and a pleasure to deal with. We are looking forward to seeing his first foals arrive in August."
