The Gary Duncan-trained Dzsenifer (2 f ex Phaedra by Hussonet) broke her maiden at the second time of asking on Friday when she landed the TAB Plate (1400m) at the Gold Coast and in the process became winner number two for the former Arrowfield Stud-based stallion Scissor Kick (Redoute's Choice).

Having finished second on debut at the Sunshine Coast earlier in the month, the filly was able to get her head in front, beating See Marie (Sebring) by a length and a quarter with another nose back to Corvo (Spirit Of Boom) in third.

The filly was purchased by her trainer for $32,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the Arrowfield Stud draft and she is one of three winners out of Phaedra (Hussonet), who was also a winner herself.

Dzsenifer's third dam Gentle Flurry (Zephyr Bay) produced Group 1 winner Inaflury (Zabeel), while further afield this is the family of Listed scorers Royal Billie (Bold Flip) and Smart And Mighty (Baryshnikov).

The filly's brother was purchased for $160,000 by John Foote at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale earlier this year and, after missing to former shuttler Olympic Glory (Choisir), the mare is now in foal to Showtime (Snitzel).

The two-year-old is bred on a similar cross to six stakes winners, including elite level-winning pair King's Legacy (Redoute's Choice) and Marju (Redoute's Choice).

Scissor Kick, who counts Girls Kick On as his other winner, stood at Arrowfield for four seasons and now stands exclusively at Haras d'Etreham in France.
