Timely update for Arrowfield-consigned sister ahead of Gold Coast Sale

The Bjorn Baker-trained Dance (3 g Not A Single Doubt - Tango by Starcraft) got off the mark on his three-year-old debut as he landed a race over 1100 metres at Warwick Farm on Wednesday and handed his sister a timely update ahead of her going through the ring at next year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

The three-year-old was unlucky not to shed his maiden status in five starts as a two-year-old, finishing second on two occasions, but he finally got his head in front when beating Mount Fuji (Snitzel) - who cost a whopping $2,800,000 at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale in 2019 - by a neck. Jimmy's Dream (Not A Single Doubt) was another length and a half back in third.

Dance was purchased by the China Horse Club and Newgate Bloodstock for $500,000 at the 2019 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and he was subsequently reoffered on the Inglis Digital June (Late) Sale, where he was purchased by A Value Consulting Limited for $135,000 earlier this year.

Dance is out of unraced mare Tango (Starcraft) and she is a sister to Listed scorer Lunar Rise, while she is also a half-sister to fellow stakes winner Crafty (Manhattan Rain).

The gelding’s third dam is Group 3 winner Petroleuse (Habitat) - who in turn produced Grade 3 scorer Peinture Bleue (Alydar) - the dam of Grade 1 scorer and successful sire Peinture Celebre (Nureyev).

Petroleuse is also the dam of Group 3-winning duo Parme (Blushing Groom) and Provins (Chief's Crown), while further back this is the same family as Group 1 winner Persian King (Kingman).

The gelding’s brother was purchased by Spicer Thoroughbreds for $150,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, while Arrowfield Stud will offer his aforementioned sister at this year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling and the filly is catalogued as Lot 868

Last season Tango missed to The Autumn Sun (Redoute’s Choice), while she has most recently been covered by his barnmate Castelvecchio (Dundeel).
