Written Tycoon (Iglesia) - who has just finished covering his first book of mares at Arrowfield Stud - could not have had a better start to the season and that good start continued on Friday as he sired four winners at three different tracks.

The winning quartet included, the Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou-trained Never Never River (3 g ex Best Yet to Come by Econsul) who broke his maiden at the fourth time of asking over 1250 metres at Canterbury.

The three-year-old gelding finished his race off well to get the better of Captivare (I Am Invincible), beating him by a length two and a quarter lengths. Nabbarro (Smart Missile) was another neck head away in third.

Purchased by Sun Stud for $130,000 at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in 2019 from the draft of Woodside Park, where Written Tycoon used to reside, he is out of Listed winner Best Is Yet Come (Econsul).

Further back this is the same family as Group 2 winner Everswindell (Align) and Listed scorers Shaquille (Blazing Keel) and Major Decision (Zamazaan).

Meanwhile, the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained Sensationalisation (3 f ex Sheer Sensation by Commands) was another of the stallion’s progeny to break her maiden as she landed the Newcomb Sand & Soil Maiden Plate (1300m) at Geelong.

The three-year-old filly scooted clear to beat Best Episode (So You Think) by a length and a half, while Vidiano (Pierro) was another three-quarters of a length back in third.

Purchased by Dynamic Syndications and Dean Watt Bloodstock for $100,000 at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale in 2019 from the Aquis Farm draft, the filly is out of Commands (Danehill) mare Sheer Sensation, who was purchased by Julian Blaxland’s Blue Sky Bloodstock for $180,000 at the 2017 Inglis Chairman's Sale when carrying the filly in utero.

Sheer Sensation herself is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Zip Zip Aray (Bellotto) and Listed winner Zipanese (Bellotto) as well as the dam of Macau Listed winner Hostwin Saturn (Stratum).

Meanwhile, the filly’s third dam is Dubai Lass (Bletchingly), who in turn produced stakes-placed Nicola Lass (Scenic) - the dam of multiple Group 1 winner Niconero (Danzero) and dual Group 1 winner and now Widden Stud-based sire Nicconi (Bianconi).

The quartet of winners was completed by Yulong Command (3 g Written Tycoon  - Prettyhappyaboutit by Magnus), who chalked up his second victory in a Benchmark 64 (1200m) at Moonee Valley, while Rock Tycoon (5 g ex Written Tycoon - Rock Princess by Elvstroem) added a seventh victory to his CV in a Benchmark 70 (955m) at the same track.

Written Tycoon now sits at the top of the champion sires standings by number of winners with 101. The stallion has enjoyed an incredible season so far, siring ten stakes winners, including Group 1-winning trio Pippie, Odeum and Ole Kirk and he has 45 lots catalogued for next year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
