The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Swift Witness (2 f Star Witness - Taylor's Command by Commands) booked her spot in next Saturday's Magic Millions 2YO Classic (RL, 1200m) with commanding victory in the Gold Pearl Quality (1100m) at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

The daughter of Star Witness (Starcraft) raced keenly in the early stages, but never looked in any danger and managed to pull away to a comfortable three length victory over Glorious Ruby (Your Ruby), while Miss Hipstar - who is by Vinery Stud first-season sire Star Turn - a son of Star Witness - was a further three-quarters of a length away in third.

"It was good to see the improvement with the blinkers, we came up here thinking she had the ability to be here and deserved a spot in the (Magic Millions) field so it will be good to see her take her place," Bott said.

"It was a bit of an ask for her to have her first race in the Wyong Magic Millions, she got a little bit lost there but she still found the line strongly.

"Today she was a bit reactive to a few horses shifting out but once she really balanced up and got focused on the task, we were able to see a nice turn of foot.

"It wasn't easy with what happened pre-race but she handled herself remarkably well, she went back to the stalls and was nice and relaxed."

Swift Witness has now won just over $90,000 in prize money in her two career starts having finished third on debut in the Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic (RL, 1100m) behind She's All Class (I Am Invincible).

Purchased by her trainers for $260,000 out of the Widden Stud draft at the 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, the filly is out of winning Commands (Danehill) mare Taylor's Command, making her a sister to stakes-placed Terminology.

Taylor's Command is herself a half-sister to Group 2 scorer So Pristine (Zabeel) and stakes winner Restored (Red Ransom), while her other half-sister to Group 2 scorer Dijon Bleu (Burgundy).

Further back this is also the family of stakes-winning duo Long Gone Blues (Sovereign Dancer) and El Bulubu (Latiendo).

Widden Stud will offer the filly's brother as Lot 871 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale next week, while in 2020 she produced another filly by the Widden Stud-based sire and she was covered by the stallion again last breeding season.

Star Witness has ten lots set to go under the hammer at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale next week.
