Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Satin Ribbons (2 f Capitalist - Satin Shoes by Flying Spur) produced another impressive trial victory when she beat the Kris Lees-trained four-year-old Loch Lomond (Sacred Falls) by two and three quarter lengths in Heat 5 at Gosford on Tuesday morning.

The Belinda Bateman-bred filly dominated her first trial when scoring by five lengths at Rosehill on January 4 and on Tuesday went straight to the front from the gates. She then opened up a six length lead to the home turn when she came back to the field, but into the straight she drew clear again, running a time of 59.82 seconds for the 1000 metres.

Satin Ribbons is out of Group 2 winner Satin Shoes (Flying Spur), making her a half-sister to 2017 ATC Gimcrack Stakes (Gr 3, 1000m) winner Satin Slipper (Pierro) and another winner.

Satin Shoes herself is a daughter of Group 1 winner Star Satire (Volksraad) and she also produced dual Group 2 scorer Zarzuela (Zabeel), who in turn produced Group 3 winner Serious Satire (More Than Ready).

The filly holds a nomination for Saturday’s 2YO Handicap over 1000 metres at Randwick.

In Heat 12, Satin Ribbons’ stablemate, Written Tycoon (Iglesia) colt Conglomerate (2 c ex Tender Mercies by More Than Ready) won his 800 metre trial in a time of 49.12 seconds, beating Alucia (Your Song) by two and a quarter lengths.

Conglomerate was bought for $350,000 at last year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and is raced by a group that includes Newgate Bloodstock and China Horse Club. He is out of Tender Mercies (More Than Ready) who is a daughter of Sunday Joy (Sunday Silence), making her a sister to multiple Group 1 winner More Joyous.

In the following heat Oblivion (2 c Winning Rupert - Mossbeat by Mossman) scored a two and a half length victory in a time of 49.19 seconds for the 800 metres. The James Harron Bloodstock-raced colt was a $280,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase.

He is out of the Group 3 placed Mossman (Success Express) mare Mossbeat who was herself bought for $180,000 by Newstar Partnership at the 2017 Inglis Chairman’s Sale.

Another impressive trial winner was the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained three-year-old Bojack (3 g Snitzel - Insinuating by Tiznow) who won Heat 4 over 1000 metres in a time of 59.94 seconds. Sent to the front from the barriers, he opened up a wide margin and maintained his position to the line to score an impressive three and a half length victory. Breeders’ Plate (Gr 3, 1000m) runner-up Construct (I Am Invincible) ran on well in the closing stages to finish second.

Raced by a partnership that includes Arrowfield, Bojack is out of unraced Tiznow (Cee’s Tizzy) mare Insinuating. He was bought for $400,000 by Gai Waterhouse Racing, Adiran Bott and Mount Hallowel for $400,000 at the 2019 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and further back this is the family of Coolmore Classic (Gr 1, 1500m) winner Alverta (Flying Spur).
