The Richard and Michael Freedman-trained Stay Inside (2 c Extreme Choice - Nothin Leica Storm by Anabaa) showed his Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) credentials as he added a second win to his record with a dominant victory in the Pierro 2YO Plate (1100m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Last seen making a winning debut over 1000 metres at the same track on January 23, the colt bolted clear to post a four length victory over Vianello (Teofilo), while Giannis (Flying Artie) was a further three-quarters of a length away in third.

“He’s the ultimate professional,” said winning jockey James MacDonald. “I worked him Tuesday and he did it lovely, so I thought he would come here and do what he did.

“He’ll get to the Slipper, wet or dry and be hard to beat.”

Stay Inside was purchased by his trainers and Rick Connolly Bloodstock for $200,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale in 2020 from the Newgate Farm draft, who purchased the colt for $60,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast National Weanling Sale from the draft of his breeder Kingstar Farm the year before.

The colt is out of winning Anabaa (Danzig) mare Nothin Leica Storm, who was purchased by Kingstar Farm for $90,000 at the 2018 Inglis Chairman's Sale carrying this colt in utero.

Further back this is the same pedigree as Group 1 winner Wonderful World (Anges World) and Listed-winning duo Wonderful Lass (Catbird) and Husson Eagle (Husson).

In 2020 Nothin Leica Storm produced a filly by Russian Revolution (Sntizel) and she has most recently been covered by Newgate Farm’s new stallion Cosmic Force (Deep Field).

Extreme Choice has five lots catalogued at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, which gets underway at Oaklands Junction on February 28.
