The Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained Sisstar (Zoustar) - a sister to former star stablemate Sunlight - broke the track record over 955 metres at Moonee Valley on Friday night when she landed the 55 Second Challenge, posting a winning time of 54.45 seconds.

The Group 3-winning daughter of Zoustar (Northern Meteor) cut through the field to beat Lesage (Exceed And Excel) by half a length, while The Last Napoleon (Atomic) was another nose away in third. The winning time bettering the 54.54 seconds set by stablemate Meteorite (Deep Field) in an earlier heat of the series.

"That was incredible," Tony McEvoy said.

"To be the last heat and to run a record, that's really flying.

"She's of better class than him (Meteorite) but he was on his game that night with perfect conditions.

"She was only half a kilogram off the minimum for a Group 3 winner in this grade (BM90)."

The filly is out of dual Group 3 winner Solar Charged (Charge Forward), making her a sister to the aforementioned three-time Group 1 winner Sunlight - who was purchased for a record-breaking $4.2 million by Coolmore Stud at last year’s Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.

Solar Charged herself is a half-sister to Listed winner Causeway Queen (Giant’s Causeway).

Sisstar and Sunlight are among the 20 stakes winners sired by Widden Stud-based stallion Zoustar and he has 22 lots catalogued at the upcoming Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
