Darley Stud-based first-season sire Astern (Medaglia d’Oro) was handed his second winner courtesy of Do As You're Told’s (2 f ex Look And Listen by Hinchinbrook) stylish victory on debut over 1000 metres at Tamworth on Monday.

Trained by Kris Lees, the two-year-old filly finished strongly to beat He’s Purring - who is by fellow first-season sire Maurice (Screen Hero) - by a length and a quarter. Dawntillarvi (Dawn Approach) is another length and three-quarters away in third.

Purchased by Frampton Racing for $150,000 at last year’s Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the Edinglassie Stud draft, the filly is the first winner out of dual-winning Hinchinbrook (Fastnet Rock) mare Look And Listen.

Look And Listen herself is a daughter of Listed winner Listen Here (Elusive Quality), making her a half-sister to Group 1 winner and Astern’s barnmate Shooting To Win (Northern Meteor), while she is also a half-sister to Group 2 winner and now Newgate Farm-based sire Deep Field (Northern Meteor).

Further back this is also the same pedigree as Group 1 winner Luna Rossa (Written Tycoon) and Group 3 scorer She’s So High (I Am Invincible).

Do As You're Told joins Listed winner Seradess as Astern’s other winner and Edinglassie Stud will offer the only yearling by the stallion at this year’s Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
