The Michael Moroney-trained Shelby Cobra (Toronado) pleased connections in a gallop on Friday morning.

The gelded son of Swettenham Stud shuttler Toronado (High Chaparral) won the Amanda Elliott LIsted, 1400m) at FLemington on November 7 but then disappointed next start however, Shelby Cobra will now travel to Adelaide with The Goodwood (Gr 1, 1200m) his main target.

“He had a little bit of a setback. He knocked the outside of his hock on the gates and it was sore for a bit so we had to back-off until that came right hence we had to miss Sydney,” Moroney said to Racing.com.

“We had some of those good three-year-olds sprints there in mind, but he’s not going to be ready in time so we’ll probably head toward Adelaide for races like the Euclase and the Goodwood.”
