Saturday's Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Stay Inside (Extreme Choice) and Artorius (Flying Artie), who won the Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m), will not be seen again this campaign, with connections of both horses opting to send the colts for spells.

Michael Freedman, co-trainer with his brother Richard of Stay Inside, had announced on Monday that Stay Inside was to press on towards the ATC Sires' Produce Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) at Randwick on April 10, but following a meeting with connections, it was decided Stay Inside would spell.

While no spring goals have been set in stone for the colt, races like the Coolmore Stud Stakes (registered as Ascot Vale Stakes) (Gr 1, 1200m), the Golden Rose Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) and The Everest (1200m) could all be on his agenda.

Following his win in the Blue Diamond at Caulfield in February, Artorius was going to bypass the Golden Slipper and be set for the Sires' Produce Stakes and Champagne Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m), but the ownership group opted to pay the $150,000 late entry fee into the Slipper, in which he subsequently finished sixth.

It was announced on Twitter on Tuesday the Anthony And Sam Freedman-trained two-year-old would bypass the remainder of the carnival.

Melbourne spring options for the colt may include the Caulfield Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) or the Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington on the opening day of the Melbourne Cup carnival.
