Morecoruba wins at Pakenham on Thursday
Having his second start, Morecoruba (2 g ex Starnuto by Amalfi) won the Spendthrift Australia Maiden (1200m) at Pakenham to provide Spendthrift’s Swear (Redoute’s Choice) with his second winner.
Trained by Julien Welsh, Morecoruba beat Bring The Stars (Sebring) by a length and a quarter with Blushing Tycoon (Written Tycoon) third.
The gelding becomes the first winner for his dam Starnuto (Amalfi) and further back this is the family of Grosvenor (Sir Tristram), Lankan Rupee (Redoute’s Choice) and Lonhro (Octagonal).
Swear’s first winner was Faulds and his 2021 fee has yet to be announced and he has now produced two winners from three foals to race.
