Haunui Farm shuttler Belardo (Lope De Vega) notched up his fourth southern hemisphere-bred winner on Tuesday when Tympanist (2 g ex Anaween by More Than Ready) broke his maiden at Hawkesbury.

The David Payne-trained Tympanist, who was bought for $95,000 by his trainer at last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the draft of Sledmere Stud, was having his fourth career start and defeated Vyner (Snitzel) by a length and a quarter.

Belardo's first New Zealand-bred crop is headed by Listed winner Avonallo and the Group placed filly Fonsalette. He has sired 29 winners to date in the Northern Hemisphere where he now has two crops of racing age which include the Group 2 winning filly Isabella Giles and the Group 3 winning pair Lullaby Moon and Elysium.
