Newgate Farm's Winning Rupert (Written Tycoon) sired his ninth winner on Thursday when Rupertaar (2 f ex Great Dansaar by Choisir) broke her maiden on debut at Hawkesbury.

Trained by Bjorn Baker, as her sire was, Rupertaar scored an impressive three and a half length victory over The Maxinator in the XXXX Gold Maiden Plate (1000m).

Rupertaar is raced by Darby Racing having been purchased by Darby Racing and De Burgh Equine for $90,000 at last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the draft of Daandine Stud.

Winning Rupert's first crop includes the stakes placed filly Bolsonaro and he will stand for a fee of $11,000 (inc GST) this year.
