Sunny Queen (3 f ex Suivi by Darshaan) produced an eye-catching performance in the Goddert Sybrecht-Erinnrungsrennen (Listed, 2000m) at Hannover on Thursday and in the process became former shuttler Camelot’s (Montjeu) 28th stakes winner.

Last seen running third on debut at the same track earlier in the month, the filly surged clear to post an emphatic eight and a half length win over Americana (Alderflug).

Purchased for €35,000 at the 2018 BBAG September Yearling Sale, the filly is out of four time winner Suivi (Darshaan) making her a half-sister to fellow Listed scorer Suestado (Monsun) and three further winners.

Suivi herself is a half-sister to Group 2 winner Simoun (Monsun) and Listed-winning duo Shining (Surumu) and Soudaine (Monsun), with the latter the dam of Group 2 winner Savoir Vivre (Alderflug) and Listed winner Sussudio (Nayef).

Suivi also counts Listed winner Soignee (Dashing Blade) - the dam of multiple Group 1-winning champion Stacelita (Monsun) among her other half-siblings. Stacelita herself produced Japanese Grade 1 winner Soul Stirring - who is best known for providing Frankel (Galileo) with his first Classic winner - and Grade 3 winner Schon Glaz (Deep Impact), while further back this is the family of Group 3 winner Silvander (Lomitas) and Listed winner Secessio (Königstiger).

Camelot - who shuttled to Australia for one season - is the sire of four Group 1 winners, including Russian Camelot, who won the South Australian Derby (Gr 1, 2400m) earlier in the month and the stallion stood at Coolmore Stud in Ireland for a fee of €40,000 this year.
