Filly becomes stakes winner number 26 for So You Think

So You Think Picture: Coolmore Australia

Coolmore Australia-based stallion So You Think (High Chaparral) was represented by his 26th stakes winner - third in the northern hemisphere - when his daughter Think Of Me (4 f ex Tosia by Big Shuffle) proved too strong in the Prix Gold River - Fonds Europeen de l'Elevage (Listed, 2800m) at Deauville on Thursday.

Last seen winning over 2200 metres at Fontainebleau in March, the Francis-Henri Graffard four-year-old filly stayed on to narrowly defeat Endorphine (Muthamir) by a head with Amarena (Soldier Hollow) another length away in third.

Purchased by Clear Light SAS for €32,000 at the BBAG September Yearling Sale from the Gestut Brummerhof draft, the filly is out of the placed Big Shuffle (Super Concorde) mare Tosia whose other foal to race is also a winner.

Tosia is a sister to Taita - the dam of German Group 3-winning pair Tai Chi (High Chaparral) and Taraja (High Chaparral).

Further back this is the family of Group 3 scorer Turning Light (Fantastic Light) and Listed winners Tamacana (Windurf) and Surrey Star (Dubawi).

So You Think’s progeny is headed by six Group 1 scorers including this season’s Australian Derby (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Quick Thinker, while his other northern hemisphere stakes winners are American Grade 3 winner Coachwhip and French Listed winner Mr Marathon Man.

The son of High Chaparral (Sadler’s Wells) shuttled to Coolmore’s Ireland base for four seasons and he now stands exclusively at the operation’s Australian base and his fee is set at $38,500 (inc GST) for 2020.
