Former Coolmore Stud shuttler No Nay Never (Scat Daddy) sired his 23rd stakes winner on Tuesday courtesy of Love Locket’s (3 f ex Starlet by Sea The Stars) victory in the Leopardstown Fillies Trial Stakes (Gr 3, 7f).

The three-year-old filly hit the line strongly to post a length and a half victory over Know It All (Lord Kanaloa) with another head back to Precious Moments (Gleneagles) in third.

Love Locket was purchased by Glenvale Stud for €52,000 Goffs November Foal Sale from the Castlebridge Consignment in 2017, before being re-offered as a yearling at the Goffs Orby where she was snapped up by MV Magnier for €700,000.

The filly is out the winning mare Starlet (Sea The Stars), making her a half-sister to Listed winner Raakib Alhawa (Kingman).

Love Locket’s third dam is Kasora (Darshaan) - the dam of multiple elite level scorer and champion sire High Chaparral (Sadler’s Wells) and Group 2 winner Black Bear Island (Sadler’s Wells).

Kasora is also the grandam of Group 2 winner David Livingston (Galileo) and Hunting Horn (Camelot), who landed the Moonee Valley Gold Cup (Gr 2, 2500m) last year, while she is also the grandam of Listed-winning trio Casterton (Fastnet Rock), Fancy Blue (Deep Impact) and Smuggler’s Cove (Fastnet Rock).

Starlet was purchased by John and Jake Warren for 160,000gns at the 2017 Tattersalls December Mare Sale.

No Nay Never shuttled to Coolmore’s Jerrys Plains base for four seasons but will not return in 2020 and he has sired three winners in the southern hemisphere, including Group 3 winner Need I Say More. His stakes winners are headed by two Group / Grade 1 winners in Ten Sovereigns and Brooke.
