The Markus Klug-trained Moonlight Man (4 c ex Moonlight Symphony by Pentire) landed the Sommerpreis (Listed, 1900m) at Dresden on Saturday and in the process handed Westbury Stud resident Reliable Man (Dalakhani) with his 13th stakes.

Purchased for €26,000 at the 2017 BBAG September Yearling Sale, the four-year-old colt beat Wonnemond (Areion) into second with Itobo (Areion) coming home in third.

Moonlight Man is out of winning mare Moonlight Symphony (Pentire), making him a brother to winner Moon Relation and one further winner.

The colt’s third dam Morning Queen (Königsstuhl) produced Group 3 winner Wekeela (Hurricane Run), while she is also the grandam of Group 1 winner Molly Malone (Lomitas) - the dam of Group 2 scorer Morgan La Faye (Shamardal).

Further back this is also the family of multiple Group 1 winner and successful sire Monsun (Königsstuhl) and fellow elite level scorer Brametot (Rajsaman).

Reliable Man’s progeny is headed by VRC Oaks (Gr 1, 2500m) winner Miami Bound and Sentimental Miss, who landed the New Zealand Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) and he will stand the 2020 season for a fee of NZ$15,000 (plus GST).
