Collinsbay lands Prix Max Sicard

Cable Bay Picture: Woodside Park Stud.

Woodside Park Stud shuttler Cable Bay (Invincible Spirit) sired his third stakes winner on Sunday as Collinsbay (2 c ex Kinematic by Kyllachy) landed the Prix Max Sicard (Listed, 2400m) at Pisa.

Having the first start in Italy for trainer Luciano Vitabile, the colt pulled clear to beat Flag's Up (War Command) into second, while Zuglin - who is by Oaklands Stud-based sire Power (Oasis Dream) - came home in third.

Bred and formerly owned by The Queen and trained by Richard Hannon, the colt was purchased by Federico Barberini for 50,000gns at this year’s Tattersalls Horses In Training Sale and he becomes the second winner out of winning Kyllachy (Pivotal) mare Kinematic.

Kinematic herself is a half-sister to Listed winner Musical Comedy (Royal Applause) and a further six winners. Further afield this is the same family as dual stakes winner Soprano (Kris).

Collinsbay joins Group 3 winner Liberty Beach and Listed scorer Jouska as Cable Bay’s other stakes winners and he will stand the 2021 season at Highclere Stud for a fee of £8,000.

Glastonbury Farms will offer the only lot by the stallion at next year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale - a colt who is catalogued as Lot 1198.
