204th stakes winner for Dubawi
Creative Force wins Carnarvon Stakes

Dubawi (Dubai Millenium) sired yet another stakes winner taking his overall career total to 204 and remarkably notching up his 16th stakes winner worldwide this calendar year when Creative Force (3 g ex Choose Me by Choisir) won the Carnarvon Stakes (Listed, 6f) at Newbury. Creative Force settled down in third last position and travelled extremely well into the race before drawing away to a taking three length victory over Spycaster (Vadamos). Creative Force was a €400,000 purchase by Godolphin at the Goffs Orby Yearling Sale. Creative Force is out of the listed winner Choose Me (Choisir) who is the dam of Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (Gr 1,1m) winner Persuasive (Dark Angel) and Listed winner Tisbutadream (Dream Ahead).

 

Frankel sires 68th stakes winner
John Leaper impresses in Fairway Stakes

The regally bred John Leeper (3 c Frankel - Snow Fairy by Intikhab) scored a strong win in the Fairway Stakes (Listed, 1m2f) at Newmarket on Saturday giving his sire Frankel (Galileo) his 68th stakes winner. The son of six time Group 1 winner Snow Fairy pulled hard in the early stages of the race but travelled better in the middle stages when given plenty of cover. He stayed on strongly up the hill to draw away to a length and three quarter victory over the Sir Mark Todd-trained Tasman Bay (Le Havre) in second. John Leeper is now a 10/1 chance for this year's Derby (Gr 1, 1m4f).

 

Palace Pier cruises to Lockinge victory
Third Group 1 for son of Kingman

The John and Thady Gosden-trained Palace Pier (4 c Kingman - Beach Frolic by Nayef) chalked up his third Group 1 victory and seventh win from his only eight start career with a most taking victory in the Lockinge Stakes (Gr 1, 1m) at Newbury. Always in command and travelling supremely well, the hugely talented son of Kingman (Invincible Spirit) scored by one and half lengths over the William Jarvis-trained Lady Bowthorpe (Canford Cliffs) with another five and half lengths back to Top Rank (Dark Angel) in third. Palace Pier was a 600,000gns purchase for his trainer at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1.

 

Third stakes winner for Awtaad
Second stakes winner in as many days for young stallion

Awtaad (Cape Cross), whose oldest runners have only just turned thee, sired his second stakes winner in as many days when Bellosa (3 f ex Poole Belle by Canford Cliffs) ran out a two length winner of the King Charles II Stakes (Listed 7f) against the colts. Trained by Jane Chapple-Hyam, Bellosa created a big impression with a wide margin maiden victory on debut at the Craven meeting in April. She is raced by her breeder Sir Edmund Loder and is the first stakes winner for her dam Poole Belle. She is from the family of Group 1 winner Satwa Queen (Muhtathir). 

 

Fifth winner for Caravaggio
The Entertainer overcomes traffic to score on debut

Former shuttle sire Caravaggio (Scat Daddy) continued his good start to his career, siring his fifth individual winner when The Entertainer (2 c ex Cape Joy by Cape Cross) won by a length and a half at Navan. Cluttered up between horses behind the leaders The Entertainer quickened up nicely when in the clear inside the final furlong and scored with plenty in hand. He was purchased by Avenue Bloodstock for MV Magnier at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 2 for 110,000gns.
