Lights On impressive in Tuesday’s Pipalong Stakes

In winning Tuesday’s Pipalong Stakes (Listed, 1m) at Pontefract, Lights On (4 f ex In The Light by Inchinor) became the 49th stakes winner for the Aga Khan Stud-based sire Siyouni (Pivotal). 

Trained in Newmarket by Sir Michael Stoute for Cheveley Park Stud, Lights On took the lead with 400 metres left to travel. Under Ryan Moore, she pulled away to an impressive ten length victory over Agincourt (Declaration Of War). Waliyak (Le Havre) was another length further away in third. 

Bred by London Thoroughbred Services, Lights On was bought for 250,000gns by Cheveley Park Stud at the 2017 Tattersalls December Foal Sale and she has now won four times. She is out of Listed placed mare In The Light (Inchinor) making her a half-sister to Group Three winner Karar (Invincible Spirit). 

Siyouni’s stakes winners are headed by six Group One winners in Laurens, St Mark’s Basilica, Sottsass, Ervedya, Etoile and Dream And Do.
