Gnat Alley (2 f ex Winter Snow by Raven's Pass) broke her maiden over six furlongs at Redcar on Wednesday to provide her former Coolmore Australia shuttler Caravaggio (Scat Daddy) with his 19th first crop winner.

The filly, a 30,000gns purchase by Ted Durcan Bloodstock at Book 3 of last year's Tattersall's October Yearling Sale, kept on well in the closing stages to defeat Prodigious Blue (Bated Breath) by a length and a half.

Gnat Alley is the second winner out of Winter Snow (Raven's Pass) who is herself a daughter of Group Three winner Gonfilia (Big Shuffle). Further back this is the family of Farhh (Pivotal) and Fame And Glory (Montjeu).

Caravaggio shuttled to Coolmore Australia for just one season in 2018 and is currently sitting in second in the leading first season sires table in Europe by earnings behind Cotai Glory (Exceed And Excel).
