Tally-Ho Stud-based sire Kodiac (Danehill) was provided with his 66th stakes winner on Sunday as his son Medahim (7 g ex Novel Fun by Noverre) landed the HH The President Cup (Listed, 1400m) in Abu Dhabi.

The seven-year-old gelding, who was having his 26th career start, beat Moqtarreb (Kingman) by a length and a half, while Nayslayer (No Nay Never) was another length and a quarter further away in third.

The gelding was purchased by MC Bloodstock for €130,000 at the 2014 Goffs Ireland November Foal Sale, before being bought by Al Shaqab Racing and Doyle for 360,000gns at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in 2015. Most recently Kilbride Equine parted with 35,000gns for the gelding at the 2018 Tattersalls Autumn Horses-in-Training Sale.

Medahim is one of three winners out of the unraced Noverre (Rahy) mare Novel Fun, who is herself a half-sister to Group 3 winner Hunan (College Chapel) and the dam of German Listed scorer Exciting Life (Titus Livius).

Tally-Ho Stud-based sire Kodiac’s progeny is headed by five Group 1 winners, including 2018 Caulfield Cup (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Best Solution and the Cambridge Stud co-owned Hello Youmzain, who stands at Haras d’Etreham and will shuttle to Cambridge Stud for the 2021 breeding season.
