In winning Thursday’s Al Fahidi Fort (Gr 2, 1400m) at Meydan, Land Of Legends (5 g ex Homily by Singspiel) became the 73rd stakes winner for former Haunui Farm shuttler Iffraaj (Zafonic).

Trained by Saeed bin Suroor and ridden by Frankie Dettori, who was riding for the trainer for the first time in Dubai since losing his retainer, Land Of Legends beat D’bai (Dubawi) by three quarters of a length with the same distance back in third to favourite Glorious Journey (Dubawi).

Land Of Legends is one of three winners out of unraced Singspiel (In The Wings) mare Homily and becomes her first stakes winner. His second dam is dual Group winner Last Resort (Lahib) who produced Grade 2 winner Rebellion (Mozart).

Thursday’s victory took Land Of Legends race record to four wins and three placings in ten starts.

Iffraaj’s stakes winners are headed by ten Group 1 winners including multiple Group 1 winner Ribchester who now shuttles to Haunui Farm. Iffraaj meanwhile has 27 lots catalogued for next week’s Karaka 2021 - Book 1. His 2021 fee at Darley's Dalham Hall Stud has been set at £20,000.
