A treble of stakes wins for Godlophin at Meydan on Thursday was rounded out by Star Safari (5 g ex Intimhir by Muhtathir) who won the Dubai Millennium Stakes (Gr 3, 1m2f) also giving his Aga Khan Studs-based sire Sea The Stars (Cape Cross) his 74th stakes winner world wide.

The Charlie Appleby-trained Star Safari raced in mid field under jockey William Buick. He travelled strongly in the race and quickened up nicely in the straight to score a length and a quarter victory over Bedouin’s Story (Farhh), with a further length back to Halimi (Teofilo) in third.

Star Safari was a €200,000 purchase by Blandford Bloodstock / Godolphin at the 2017 BBAG September Yearling Sale from the consignment of his breeders Gestut Brummerhof. Star Safari is also the first stakes winner for his dam Intimhir, a half-sister to Premio Lydia Tesio (Gr 1, 2200m) winner Sortilege (Tiger Hill) and Group Three winner Soudania (Sea The Stars). This is the immediate family of the multiple Group One winners and champions Samum (Monsun) and Schiaparelli (Monsun).

Sea The Stars stands at Gilltown Stud in Ireland where his 2021 fee is €150,000.
