Group 2 winner Cosmic Force (Deep Field) will stand alongside his father Deep Field (Northern Meteor) at Newgate Stud in 2020 for a fee of $16,500 (inc GST).
Bought for $180,000 by China Horse Club, Newgate Farm and WinStar at the 2018 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Cosmic Force won on debut over 900 metres at Newcastle in November 2018.
First up from a spell he ran second in the Lonhro Plate (Listed, 1100m) the following February and assumed the same position in the Skyline Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) behind Microphone (Exceed And Excel). At his next start Cosmic Force won the Pago Pago Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) by an impressive seven and a quarter lengths.
"That horse gave me an unbelievable feel. He relaxed super in the run and when I asked him to give a boom he gave a boom. He was strong on the line. He felt enormous," said winning jockey James McDonald.
Resuming at three with a second in the Heritage Stakes (Listed, 1100m), the son of Deep Field then took out the Roman Consul Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) beating Standout (Exceed And Excel) and Microphone. He retired from racing having won three times and placed in another four from 11 starts accumulating $486,765 in prize-money.
Cosmic Force is out of winning Commands (Danehill) mare Little Zeta, making him a half-brother to Group 3 winner Onemorezeta (Onemorenomore), while further afield he is from the family of Listed winners More Than Great (More Than Ready) and Grand Tycoon (Written Tycoon).
