Nobellem breaks her maiden at Awapuni on Thursday
Belardo (Lope De Vega) sired his third New Zealand-bred winner when Nobellum (2 f ex Playing for Keeps by Keeper) broke her maiden over 1100 metres at Awapuni on Thursday.
Having her first career start, Nobellum scored a length and a quarter victory over Vesparado (Vespa).
Belardo's first New Zealand-bred crop is headed by Listed winner Avonallo and the Group placed filly Fonsalette. The son of Lope De Vega (Shamardal) is sitting second behind Capitalist (Written Tycoon) in the leading first season sires table in New Zealand by earnings.
