British-based agent Dermot Farrington, in conjunction with owner Brae Sokolski, went to $800,000 to secure a colt by Arrowfield Stud's three-time champion stallion Snitzel (Redoute's Choice).

Offered by Aquis Farm, who also stayed in the colt, and catalogued as Lot 598, https://catalogue.magicmillions.com.au/lot/20GPR/598 the colt is out of American-bred mare One Funny Honey (Distorted Humor), making him a half-brother to Group 2 winner One More Honey (Onemorenomore) and Listed winner Vega One (Lope De Vega).

The colt's third dam is Group 3 winner Lan Kwai Fong (Bluebird), who finished second in the VRC Oaks (Gr 1, 2500m).

Farrington said the colt was very good-looking and so deserved to make that figure: "You never know when you step onto the Gold Coast what they will make, but he deserved to make his price.

"He was very popular and Snitzel can sire a good one so why wouldn't he sire another good one? He's a high-end physical with a big page."

This was the second yearling Farrington purchased this week with the agent having spent $120,000 for a colt by Woodside Park shuttler Cable Bay (Invincible Spirit) on day one of the Queensland sale.

Tubba Williams, who is enjoying his first Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale as the Aquis Farm CEO, said the operation where 'honoured' to be able to offer the quality Snitzel colt.

"He was our most popular horse in the draft for the entire sale. We are delighted that Dermot was able to buy him on behalf of a client - he is a great judge.

"We are delighted with the price as well. He is by Snitzel, who is one of the greatest stallions to stand in Australia for a long time and to be able to offer a colt of that quality for under the Aquis banner was certainly an honour to do that.

"She's proved herself a good broodmare with two stakes winners and she is a mare that has a wonderful international pedigree and this colt will certainly do the purchasers proud."
