Vinery Stud were one of the first vendors to start parading ahead of the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale that starts its three day run on Sunday. Following a successful sale on the Gold Coast, the Hunter Valley farm present a draft of 24 yearlings at Classic.

"Just the way the yearlings sales have gone so far this year is cause for positivity," said Vinery Stud's Racheal Finlayson. "The level of buyers here at the Classic Sale is very high so you would think the level of competition will be high as well.

"No doubt there will have been a few people miss out on yearlings they wanted at earlier sales, so hopefully they bring their lists to these next few and keep the momentum going."

Like many vendors Vinery have had a good number of on-farm inspections and are pleased with the level of inspections at the complex.

"On farm inspections were on par with what we did last year for our Inglis Classic yearlings, which is great when you consider the disruptions this year compared with last year.

"How have the first couple of days of inspections at the complex gone? We're very happy with the number of inspections we've done. It's been nice and constant since we arrived. Today (Friday) things have ramped up a bit and we're seeing people start with their second looks as they narrow down their shortlists."

Vinery's recent yearling graduates include Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner and Champion two-year-old Farnan (Not A Single Doubt), multiple stakes winner and $2.3 million earner Exhilarates (Sniztel), as well as Classic Sale graduates Vanna Girl (Husson), Keefy (All Too Hard) and Paper Daisy (Press Statement).

"Every year we bring a very strong draft, which we feel suits the Classic Sale and this year is no different. We've had a lot of successful graduates come out of the Classic Sale."

As many have had to do, Vinery have adapted their marketing to ensure that anyone not at the sales complex can access information on each lot.

"Since the onset of COVID-19 we've tried to make our drafts more accessible to people who can't be on complex. On top of our usual advertising and promotions we're putting more information on our website and we now do parade videos of each Lot prior to every sale. These parade videos are available on our website, social media channels and on the sale websites. Our bloodstock team are always available to answer any questions remote buyers may have too."
