Flashdance - a placed Lonhro (Octagonal) mare - was the headline act of the Gavelhouse Online Sale on Monday when Banda went to NZ$30,000 for the Cambridge Stud-consigned mare.

Catalogued as Lot 32, the mare is was offered in foal to Westbury Stud resident El Roca (Fastnet Rock) and she is out of the winning Sadler’s Wells (Northern Dancer) mare Dance On By.

Dance On By herself is a sister to multiple Group 1-winning champion and late successful sire High Chaparral and Group 2 winner Black Bear Island. This is also the family of Group 1 winner Fancy Blue (Deep Impact) and Listed-winning pair Casterton (Fastnet Rock) and Smuggler’s Cove (Fastnet Rock).

Hunting Horn (Camelot), who landed the Moonee Valley Gold Cup (Gr 2, 2500m) in 2019 and fellow Group 2 winner David Livingston (Galileo) also feature on the mare’s pedigree.

Meanwhile, a colt by former shuttler No Nay Never (Scat Daddy) was purchased by Santos for NZ$20,000.

Catalogued as Lot 1 and offered by Curraghmore, the colt is out of Cosmic Turbulence (Shinzig), who is herself a half-sister to 2015 Australian Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Gust Of Wind (Darci Brahma).

Meanwhile, further back the colt is from the same family as stakes winner Odeon (Royal And Regal) - the grandam of Oaks (Gr 1, 1m4f) winner Lady Carla (Caerleon).
