Bert Kerr goes to €50,000 for Baroda Stud-consigned gelding

Dual-winning Drish Venture - a gelding first-season sire sensation Mehmas (Acclamation) led the way on the first day of the two-day Goffs February Sale as Bert Kerr secured the Baroda Stud-consigned gelding for €50,000.

Catalogued as Lot 92A, the gelding is a son of winning Inchinor (Ahonoora) mare Flashing Blade, who has produced one further winner.

Flashing Blade herself is out of Grade 3-winning pair Needwood Blade (Pivotal) and Islay Mist (Distant Relative), as well as Listed scorer Australian Dreams (Magic Ring).

At the close of trade, Goffs reported 44 lots sold from the 82 horses offered, at an aggregate of €379,700 at an average of €8,630. The median was €5,500.

Goffs February Sale continues tomorrow at 12 noon with a session dedicated to breeding stock.
