Group One winner Funstar (Adelaide) will be offered in the Inglis Digital July (Early) Online Sale on behalf of her owners, it was announced on Thursday.

Trained by Chris Waller, Funstar has won five of her 18 career starts and placed in another five with her biggest victory coming in the 2019 Flight Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m). She also placed in the Surround Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) at Randwick in February 2020, the Coolmore Legacy Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) two months later and the Epsom Handicap (Gr 1, 1600m) last October.  Her career prize money totals over $1.1 million and she earnt a peak Timeform rating of 117.

The daughter of Adelaide (Galileo) showed versatility on the track, being unbeaten as a two-year-old, winning at Group One at three and finishing placed at Group One level as a four-year-old.

In her Flight Stakes victory  – a race won previously by the likes of Sunline, More Joyous, Triscay, Research, Bounding Away, Global Glamour, Guelph, Norzita, Samantha Miss, Ha Ha etc - she produced the fastest last 400 metre sectional of the day.

Funstar was bought by Anton Koolman Bloodstock for $80,000 at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale in 2018 from the draft of Bowness Stud Olly Koolman remains in the filly's ownership.

"Any form analyst will tell you she was performing to an extremely high level throughout her career, she took on the best and beat the best,'' Koolman said.

"She's one of those rare fillies that was undefeated at two – she was so precocious early on – but then trained on to be a magnificent older horse at three and four.

"She had speed and stamina and possesses all the right attributes to suggest she will make an outstanding broodmare.''

Inglis Digital's Business Manager Nick Melmeth added: "This is an extraordinary privilege to be given the opportunity to offer a mare such as Funstar for public sale.

"The family has developed incredibly in the past three years and it's exciting to think where it's going to get to over the next ten years with the opportunities that are now being afforded around the world.

"Mares like her simply don't come onto the open market very often, she is a truly rare commodity that every major breeder around the world should be taking notice of.''

Funstar is out of the winning Danehill (Danzig) mare Starspangled who won over a mile in Ireland. She has produced five other winners including Queensland Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Youngstar (High Chaparral) and the stakes placed Eleven Seconds (Encosta De Lago) while another of her daughters, Baggy Green (Galileo), is the dam of three-time Group One winner Tofane (Ocean Park) who added the Tattersall's Tiara (Gr 1, 1400m) to her record last weekend. Funstar's second dam is five-time Group One winner User Friendly (Slip Anchor).

Entries for the Inglis Digital July (Early) Online Auction are now open and will close at midnight on July 7.
