Wildcard entry Txope (Siyouni) was always going to be sought after and is now destined for Australia after Yulong Investments secured the Classic winning three-year-old for €1.2 million on day two of the Arqana Summer Sale in Deauville on Friday.

The daughter of Siyouni (Pivotal) came to the sale having won the Group 2 German 1000 Guineas (1600m) and has placed twice at Listed level this season. She also ran second in the Group 3 Prix Miesque (1400m) at Chantilly last year as a juvenile.

Txope, a €310,000 Arqana Deauville September Yearling Sale purchase by Broadhurst Agency in 2020, is out of the stakes placed mare Power Of The Moon (Acclamation) who is herself a half-sister to dual Group winner Zinziberine (Zieten). Since she last sold in Deauville she has won three times and placed in another six of her 12 career starts and will continue her racing career for her new owner.

Bidding on behalf of Yuesheng Zhang's Yulong Investments, Michael Donohoe of BBA Ireland said: "We can't wait to see her run - it is possible that we might send her over for the Del Mar Oaks in California in August but nothing is decided yet, we can't wait to discuss options.

"She's a racing prospect and a breeding prospect, and she will be a lovely broodmare in Australia."

Txope was one of four lots bought by Yulong Investments who finished the sale as the leading buyer having spent €1,483,000.
