Half-brother to Justify scores an impressive victory at Keeneland
Stage Raider (Pioneerof The Nile), a half-brother to Coolmore Australia shuttler Justify (Scat Daddy) scored an impressive victory at Keeneland on Saturday when he raced away to a ten and three quarter length victory over seven furlongs.
Despite racing greenly, Stage Raider raced in third and when into the home straight, ran away to an impressive victory at his second career start. Harvard (Pioneerof The Nile) finished in second with another half length back to Cronus (Constitution) in third.
Owned and bred by John Gunther having been passed in for US$950,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale in 2019, the son of Pioneerof The Nile (Empire Maker) becomes the third winner out of the Graded placed mare Stage Magic (Ghostzapper) who, in addition to Justify, has also produced the Grade 3 winning colt The Lieutenant (Street Sense).
Justify covered a book of 142 mares at Coolmore Australia last season and his advertised fee at Coolmore’s Ashford Stud in Kentucky this year is US$125,000.
