Final figures fell slightly when the four-day Arqana October Yearling Sale came to an end.
The overall average price for the four days of trading was €40,345, 3.6 per cent lower than last year’s record-breaking returns.

Shadwell continued its spending spree. After being top buyer at Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Sheikh Hamdan's operation secured two lots for a total spend of €460,000.Consensus on the sales ground was mixed as to the overall strength of trade.
