Iffraaj mare New York Minute bolstered her resume with a second black-type win in Saturday’s Listed Opunake Cup at New Plymouth.
New York Minute (Iffraaj x Zeno Queen by Zeno Rob Roy) was purchased from the Little Avondale Stud draft at the 2013 NZB National Weanling, Broodmare & Mixed Bloodstock Sale for $15,000.
Saturday’s win was her eighth in 24 career starts that also includes the Listed Tauranga Classic at her previous start.Trained by Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman for the Kelly family, she has now earned $211,535 in prizemoney.
Forsman said she will now be freshened and head to the Foxbridge Plate before a crack at the G1 Tarzino Trophy at Hastings.New York Minute, tone of 60 stakes winers by her shuttle sire Iffraaj, is among 20 black type wins this season for the Baker/Forsman stable.
She is the sole winner out of the unraced Zenno Queen, a half-sister to the stakes-placed Utopia.Utopia, by High Chaparral, is the dam of last year’s G1 South Australian Derby winner Volatile Mix (Pentire).
Zenno Queen has an unraced 2YO filly by Nadeem, and yearling and weanling fillies by Ghibellines and Gallant Guru.She is due to foal to Raise The Flag this year.
