Nova Vocal To Break Through

3 minute read

The James Peters' trained Noval Vocal has been rock solid in both starts to begin this preparation and now appears set to peak in the seventh event at Kranji this evening.

Having bumped into Elite Power and Jomo first up, Nova Vocal went on to only be narrowly beaten at this course and distance last start.

Forced to travel wide throughout, Nova Vocal trucked into the race strongly and looked to have the race won inside the 200m, only to be edged out late.

The eventual winner Wolf Warrior barely went around a horse and the wide run told late for Nova Vocal.

Sent out the $1.90 favourite, he left punters reeling on the floor, however he gets his chance to atone.

Nova Vocal is unbeaten in two prior third up attempts and has drawn to get a much kinder run in transit for new rider Noh Senari.

With the aid of the claim, he also appears well placed and meets Wolf Warrior 4.5kg better off.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he is clearly the horse to beat and is a noted flyer on the polytrack.

If able to follow his usual form progression third up, he is set to return a peak rating, a performance which should see him very hard to beat.

The weights are against Wolf Warrior, however it is very hard to knock winning form, having won three of his last four.

Only lightly raced, Wolf Warrior has won three of his six starts, all three coming on the polytrack.

In what was a brilliant ride from Amirul last start, Wolf Warrior faces a different scenario this evening, drawn off the track.

Senior rider Marc Lerner takes over and may look to press forward, however he is more likely to go back and ride for a bit of luck, if he gets it, he should be strong late.

The Ricardo Le Grange trained Mokastar returned in good order last start and looms as a major threat racing second up.

A noted flyer at this C&D, he is yet to miss the money second up and while only winning two of his last 10, he gets his chance with the added aid of the claim.

The Donna Logan trained The Big Easy was no match for Elite Power last start, but his performance still held merit and he appears the next in line.

Good luck and happy punting.
