Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Queanbeyan, Mildura and Cairns.

QUEANBEYAN: RACE 2 @ 2:05 PM

MAJOR DESIRE (12) is a local in the Nick Olive camp and is busting to win. Went close at Canberra and then led again beaten a nose at the Sapphire Coast. Has the handy 2kg claim and is sure to take pegging back. IMPENDING HARMONY (8) brings strong form from Canberra. She's likely to drift back from the rails gate which needs managing. Tipping she will finish hard. FLYING DUBAWI (3) was found out from the wide gate at Wellington but had been going well leading into that. Will race forward and has a small claim. On an 8-day backup. SYDNEY GAL (10) also peaks and should be ready to show more like her Victorian best. A chance if she does.
SELECTIONS: Backing Major Desire.

MILDURA: RACE 2 @ 2:00 PM

CORONATION DRIVE (4) debuted in a much stronger race at Sandown-Lakeside and started $2.80. He finished last of six there but he can be forgiven and that market support is telling. This is many lengths easier and if he runs up to that support here he should be winning this. XAPHAN (11) has been solid in three runs this time in. The run two back at Warracknabeal has her right in this. ARAMOSO (3) was good at Murray Bridge two back which has him right in the mix. FINAL QUARTER (8) could improve at odds.
SELECTIONS: Coronation Drive to win.

CAIRNS: RACE 7 @ 4:10 PM

MYSTERY 'N' MAGIC (5) is a quality gelding around this area and he built strongly for his last start win at Townsville a month ago by half a length. He is just as good on this circuit and is nicely weighted with only 55.5 kilos on his back. Another win is not beyond him. NEBARAZ (12) only beat 3 other runners when winning here last time out but did so by 3 lengths. He drops 7.5 kilos from that run and even though he is up in class, he has to be hard to beat again. INVESTOR (7) has a good record on his home track and came home with a rush when finishing runner-up here nearly a fortnight ago. He usually improves with racing and has won twice over this longer trip in the past. He can go one better. INCHING CLOSER (6) did not let down as expected second up last start after an encouraging run for third fresh up on this track. He is suited by the extra 150 metres and can bounce straight back into the money here. Each-way value.
SELECTIONS: Mystery 'N' Magic to win.
