H1 - Iway

This week another progeny of Look de Star caught the eye, winning for a second time and remaining unbeaten for Sebastien Guarato.

Iway (Look de Star) maintained his unbeaten record with a comfortable success in an Agen walk-up last Sunday. The three-year-old colt made a favourable impression on first outing at Vichy over 2200m, winning in a kilometre time of 1'16"5. He, once again, made all the running this time for driver Cedric Terry and trainer Sébastien Guarato, displaying a smart turn of foot rounding for home, stretching away from his sole challenger in the final 200m. An improved performance on the clock was delivered with a recorded winning kilometre time of 1'14"8.

This son of Look de Star (Cocktail Jet – six-time G1 winner) on first impression looks to have inherited his father's precocious nature. He won four of his first five career starts, most notably the G1 Prix Comte Pierre de Montesson (2700m), more commonly known as the Critérium des Jeunes in 2002 as a three-year-old, prior to victory in the G2 Prix Paul Karle (2100m). Iway deserves a step up in grade next time and should be able to take a rise in class in his stride as an exciting youngster with plenty of scope for progress maintaining untapped potential. Keep him on side.
