Despite Telecaster's success in last year's G2 Grand Prix de Deauville (2500m), the contest has not attracted any runners from the UK or Ireland in 2021. The race is now an ideal opportunity for one of the five runner's to break through at Group Two level and the likely top two in the market are Sublimis and Glycon.

Sublimis has the benefit of experience over his rival and boasts a strong career record, finishing out of the frame once in twelve runs. He has consistently run well in Black Type races with one win and seven placings from nine attempts including a success in the Listed Prix Lord Seymour (2400m) at Paris Longchamp. His form over course and distance is strong and is the stand-out horse in the field based on 2021 form with two wins and three placings from five outings.

In contrast, Glycon remains unexposed in these conditions and tops the course/distance/course and distance statistics due to his 100% win strike rate from one start. It was a big step up in trip when the five-year-old won the G3 Prix de Reux at the start of the month over track and trip and he may have more to offer in these conditions.

Of the remaining three runners, it is worth noting that Styledargent has a useful Black Type place record with four top three finishes from five attempts whilst Sea of Sands remains open to progression after only six starts. The Good Man is in tremendous form this campaign with two wins and two placings from five starts but may fall short at this level.
