Drone Set To Soar First Up

3 minute read

The Michael Clements trained Drone went to the paddock in great form and remains a big watch fresh in the final event at Kranji this evening.

A winner of two of his eight starts, Drone lines up against the older horses, but finds a suitable event and has drawn to get a lovely run.

By Golden Archer, Drone did a great job to score at this track when last seen and looks to have made further improvement.

Given the sole trial in the lead up, Drone really set the track alight, when saluting easily by 5L over 1000m.

Stopping the clock at 1:00.50, Drone appeared to do it easily with Duric barely sneezing on him.

Drone is unbeaten first up and appears in great order for his return.

He has placed in five of seven attempts on the polytrack, with one of his misses coming when dislodging Alysha Collett two back.

Only lightly raced, he looks to be trending the right way and unlike a majority of his rivals, he is yet to reach his respective mark.

No question the Michael Clements stable is flying at present, striking at 20% from his last 50 runners.

Add to that, Duric is striking at 23% when combined with the Clements stable and Drone is certainly ticking a few boxes.

He should be fairly prominent from the inside draw and expect him to be very hard to get passed in the straight.

The Mark Walker trained Time To Rock has finished second at both starts back this time in and looms as a major threat racing third up.

No match for My Dreamliner in his return, Time To Rock displayed good improvement behind Why Not last start and now appears set to peak.

The wide draw is some concern, however it should see Woodworth positive from the outset and he should be in it for a long way.

Little separates both he and Drone on best form.

Last start winner Golden Spark steps up in grade, but measures right up and has to be kept safe.

A noted flyer on the polytrack, he surprised a few last start (35-1 SP), but if able to repeat, he shouldn't be far away.

Of the rest the consistent Lucky Six appears the next in line.

Placing in five of his last 11, he is more than capable on best form and has drawn to get a lovely run.

Only looks to have to hold his form to be right around the mark again.

Good luck and happy punting.
