Shock Guineas winner back at Newmarket
Last year’s 1000 Guineas winner Billesdon Brook returns to action in the Charm Spirit Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket.
Without a win since her surprise Classic success, Billesdon Brook nevertheless ran with credit in races such as Royal Ascot’s Coronation Stakes, the Nassau at Goodwood and the Sun Chariot here.
Richard Hannon’s filly has no penalty to carry on Sunday but she faces a stern rival in the shape of Sir Michael Stoute’s Veracious, third in the Coronation and the Nassau before winning a Group Three.
Mark Johnston’s Nyaleti ran a series of good races at three, several of them abroad – while David Lanigan’s Worth Waiting looks a filly with more to offer this term, having finished fourth in the Prix Vermeille when last seen.
