The Cambridge nursery, owned by the Hawkins family, saw the Matthew Dunn-trained Lifesaver (Helmet x Storm Fronts by Hurricane Sky) record a first-up win in the TAB Highway to take his career record to four wins from 14 starts.

The 5YO was bred under the Wentwood Grange banner of the Llanhennock Trust.

He was followed by the promising Ocean Park 3YO Kolding landing his third successive win for the Chris Waller stable in record time of 1.27.77 for the 1500m.

Kolding (Ocean Park x Magic Star by Danzero) was bred by Wentwood Grange in partnership with Warren Pegg and was sold at the 2017 New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale at Karaka to bloodstock agent Guy Mulcaster for $170,000.

It completed a big week for Ocean Park as he is also the sire of the Wentwood Grange-bred Canterbury winner Savigne and Saturday’s Flemington winner Fabric.

Star Of The Seas, Owen Patrick, Whale Song, Navarro Lad Loved One and Okotoks are other recent winners by Ocean Park.

* Cambridge trainers Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman have trained two Karaka yearling purchases for the Zame family and both are now black type winners.

The first was the $65,000 NZB Select Sale purchase Jon Snow (Iffraaj), who won more than $2 million including the G1 ATC Australian Derby.

On Saturday the $60,000 Karaka Book 2 buy Rhaegar (Pluck x Grand Lady by Grandera) took his first step along that black type path in the Listed Auckland Futurity Stakes at Ellerslie.

Ridden by Michael McNab, the 2YO gelding went clear inside the last 200m then fought off the late lunge from his stablemate Long Jack (So You Think) to win by a long head.

Rhaegar is the fourth stakes winner for his sire Pluck. He is out of the Australian bred mare Grand Lady, who is a half-sister to G1 Australian Oaks winner Rena’s Lady.

Like Jon Snow, Rhaegar is named after a character in the hit series Game Of Thrones.

Baker and Forsman also won the Auckland Futurity 12 months ago with the classy filly Peaceful (Savabeel), a $260,000 purchase at Karaka.
