Brown To Unleash An Inferno

3 minute read

The very promising Inferno is set to make his return on Sunday night when due to contest the final event at Kranji.

Unseen since his dominant display in the Group 2 Golden Horseshoe [1200m], the son of Holy Roman Emperor creates all the interest in his return.

Bursting onto the scene in July, Inferno spaced his rivals over 1200m, before backing it up just 12 days later, when showcasing his elite turn of foot.

Ridden by Michael Rodd, Inferno settled midfield, but was forced to travel wide throughout.

Not one to panic, Rodd kept him balanced and slowly edged his way closer entering the straight.

Continuing his wide run into the straight, Inferno travelled boldly before cut loose inside the final 300m.

Quickly ambling up to the lead inside the 200m, Inferno put the race away in a few strides, drawing clear to score by two lengths.

Eased down late, he did it quite comfortably and is certainly well above average.

Allotted 56.5kg on Sunday, he gives weight away to some elder rivals, however he looks to have the talent to overcome it.

The wide draw keeps him out of trouble and loved his most recent trial when just allowed to coast to the line under Rodd.

At this stage he remains the horse to beat in next year's Group 1 Singapore Guineas and imagine Cliff Brown will just take his time getting him there.

It is a test for him, but confident he will pass with flying colours.

The Lee Freedman trained Silent Force continues to race well and has to be respected despite the wide draw.

A solid effort two back behind Lim's Craft, Silent Force went on to finish a narrow third behind Limited Edition last start.

Although beaten as favourite, his performance still held merit and with the aid of the claim, he is expected to make his presence felt.

The Mark Walker trained Fire Dragon creates plenty of interest in his Singapore debut, formerly trained by Mick Price.

On best form he appears well placed in this company and has trialled well in the lead up - big watch!

Of the rest the Desmond Koh trained Luck Of Friendship appears the next in line.

Good luck and happy punting.
